i'm a friend for sure. maybe not even a friend. i'm a colleague at best.
a date is romantic, so... somebody you want to get with, you know? like as a couple? you really gotta be clear if you're going for a date so it's not awkward later.
Oh, that makes sense. He's a colleague, since we're both Sinners. But can your colleague also be a friend or a date at the same time? Or does it have to be one or the other?
Hm~ I don't know? I just want to ask him to come to a gala. I ask him to take walks all the time, but then this gala seems like a big deal? In my household, if you wanted to ask someone to come to a party with you, you have to bring a gift worth at least sixteen million ahn, and you must ask three times. The person has to turn you down three times before they can say yes. But there isn't money here, so I don't know what anything is worth. I also don't know if Yi Sang knows he's supposed to say 'yes' after the third 'no'. So I wanted to see if you knew a different way to ask someone to come to a party.
i think you could just ask the 1 time. if he doesn't know about turning you down 3 times then the first answer is "real" enough, right? maybe you could buy him a coffee or something if you want to bring a gift.
no, i guess not. i mean, unless literally walking in the door is the whole appeal. i'm gonna walk in with my "colleague" but we can hang out at the party.
Oh... Time is okay too, I guess. But I was really looking forward to swinging around! I pulled Yi Sang up by my hair in one of those storybooks, but he wouldn't pull me up. I wanted to see how it felt.
Ah, that looks terribly fun! There are only two places for us to swing, though, and there are four people... So we'll need two of those! Where can they be bought? I'll bring one to the gala.

You seem to know a lot of things. Do you know how to ask someone to come to a gala with you?

[But. That was Kromer. So maybe it's doubly irrelevant.]
but i can help, i think... are you trying to get a date or a friend to come? it's different.

How do you know if someone is a date or a friend? Why is there a difference?
And when someone asked you to come, were you a date or a friend?

i mean, i guess mixing and matching is probably fine... if my [.........,] person i'd take on dates was here, i think we'd be all 3.
but it's good to be specific or somebody's feelings might get hurt.
no subject
Why would it hurt?
no subject
you know. if you like someone like that and they don't want to be with you for whatever reason, that's a real kick in the ass.

i'm just saying, it's cool to tell people things. honestly. the first time.
so are you going for a date, or....?

So just a coffee is alright? There is nothing else you have to do?
That's very simple...

Okay!
Junpei, do you want to come to the gala with me?
I'll get you a coffee!
no subject
well now i can't say no or i'm a liar. so sure, but aren't you asking your friend?
no subject
My friend? Oh, I suppose we are. Don calls us comrades.
I'll ask him too!
Oh, is this one of those things where you can only ask one person?

Then, we can hang out together. I'll find a good, high place for it. Do we need rope?
no subject
hang out just means we can spend time together. we don't need any rope. or climbing.

Time is okay too, I guess. But I was really looking forward to swinging around! I pulled Yi Sang up by my hair in one of those storybooks, but he wouldn't pull me up. I wanted to see how it felt.

i can't help you with the hair thing though. my hair's too short.
